Multiplication

Remember sitting down and practicing your times tables over and over again until you learned them all the way through the 12’s? Some of us probably loved this and did really well, others…not so much. We needed to visualize these groups of objects, maybe even create and touch them so that they made sense. We’ll be doing the same thing over the next several weeks in Grade 3.

Students should already be comfortable with their 0, 1, 2, 5 and 10 times tables, though we will be assessing for this. We’ll also be exploring doubles (2 x 2, 3 x 3, etc.), and multiplying by 10, 100 and 1,000. Students will use Arrays, Fact Tables, Fact Triangles, games and flash cards to learn their times tables.
