Family Fun Card Game: Multiplication War

03/02/2012

While spending time together as a family, why not play a math game? We are just jumping into our second unit about multiplication this year and I have another great math game to share. All you need is a deck of cards.

To start, take out all of the face cards and set them aside, you will not need them. Next shuffle the deck and place it in front of two or more players. During each round, each player takes two cards, places them face up in front of them and multiplies the numbers together. (If you have an ace, you can decide before the game starts to count it as a 1 or an 11.) The player with the highest product wins. When the deck is finished, count up the cards that each player has. The player with the most cards wins. For some variety, you can even play that the person with the smallest product wins.

After you play, leave a comment and let us know how your game was!
